How do I support utu?

Simple. The next time you buy a car, need surgery, or sell your house, etc., check our website for Utu members that provide those services in your area. For every qualifying product or service provided, they will donate a portion of what they collect to sponsor an essential medical procedure for someone in need.

Does it cost me anything?

No! The businesses and professionals that participate in Utu fund the humanitarian procedures out of their own pockets. There is no additional cost to their customers. You will not be asked to participate in the cost in any way.

How will I know that choosing an Utu provider made a difference?

We present you (our customers) with a certificate that commemorates the humanitarian medical procedure that was sponsored using a portion of our income from the sale. The certificate contains the following information:

  • the name of the actual recipient of the humanitarian procedure

  • the type of procedure

  • the city and country in which the procedure was performed

  • the doctor that performed the procedure

Is utu a 501(c)(3) charitable organization?

No. We partner with some of the most efficient 501(c)(3) organizations in the world. These organizations are already doing a remarkable job of managing the complicated logistics of getting money and supplies into the right hands to fund these procedures. We simply provide the funding that allows these organizations to help more people than they would otherwise be able.

No, emphatically! And, yes. We do not discriminate based on gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, or nationality. We do discriminate based on need. Recipients of utu-sponsored medical procedures have undergone thorough means assessments to ensure that they truly are in need of our help. There are two important reasons for this:

  1. We want to make sure that donated funds are going to those that truly need it most

  2. We seek to build up the medical infrastructure that serves indigent global communities. Critical to that goal is ensuring that those with the means to do so pay for their care. We are careful to ensure that would-be paying customers do not take advantage of Utu partner clinics.

Does Utu discriminate?
